River Preserve

This isn't the greatest outfit posts, it's more like a trip documentation of where I went (for the purpose of taking photos of the area, outfit - not so much). Luckily, I got a few snaps in of me messing around, so nothing new here. I loved wearing the pale pink sweater with the deeper pinks in the floral pattern against the black dress. And, of course, I was wearing some of my favorite shoes, which makes EVERYTHING better. As you can see, I don't have much reverence for my shoes or clothes. I run around and jump off things and launch myself through the mud and air, practically everything short of rolling in the dirt. What can I say? I'm an active child. I am trying to take care of some of my shoes more since I really like them and want them to last a lot longer, but it's so difficult sometimes when the wind is calling your name and you want to fling yourself out into the oblivion of the world... At least stay out of the mud, okay Self? No promises, I know.

The area in the river preserve that  we ended up at was so pretty and the sunset was absolutely spectacular. That sunset one of the best I have ever seen, so it must have been a good time to visit. I loved seeing the waterfowl floating out on the golden waves, and watching the sun slowly slip over the horizon and set the world on fire was truly a breathtaking experience.

Marigold

On some special days, you create outfits so perfect, you can't help to fall in love with them. This was a typical "me" outfit; every item was specifically picked and put together for fit, color, and play of pattern. While it's nothing particularly exciting, it is one of those outfits I can go back to wearing any time and always feel comfortable, stylish, and at ease. What more can you really ask for in an outfit?

While the skirt WAS a thriftstore find, I actually "borrowed" it from a good friend. We found it together while thrift shopping and although she ended up buying it, I might now have to employ asset forfeiture.. you know, for reasons. Anyways, I loved the rich marigold yellow of the skirt; it contrasted nicely with the navy and black. I seldom buy much yellow, but I think it's because there are not many yellow-colored clothes that are in an attractive shade, or really fit that well. I can't often find certain classic and simple clothing in the colors I desire. Here's to hoping future manufacturers will have the technology to allow you to pick and choose!

The cross-strap ballet flats I'm wearing are some of my all-time favorites in my wardrobe. They are the darker version of the gray pair I wore in Full Regalia. In fact, it was because I loved the gray pair so much that when I saw they had a pair in black, I saved up a bit and bought them as soon as I could. I actually wear them a lot more, so despite not being on sale like the gray ones were, they have been more than worth it. They are so pretty and comfortable! I wish more shoes would be inspired by ballet.

Blue Daisies

This is another one of my long picture-story posts. That's pretty much any post where I feel the pictures have a narrative flow to them. Or maybe I'm just reluctant to delete any after I edited them. Call it what you will. Picture-story-post ain't going away any time soon.

These pictures were taken in the winter, when everything here gets green and lush. Ah Winter, you beautiful soul.

My favorite detail on the dress, aside from the cute blue checkered pattern, is the little chain of daisies right below the bust. I just can't resist a good little blue dress. Daisies are starting to become a favorite pattern of mine. I can't resist those either. I was so happy when daisy prints became a trend, although I'm pretty sure this dress is much older than that. Too bad clothes tags didn't come with the date they were produced, no?

I wore tights with this dress, not only because it was cool enough to do so, but it also seemed too short to still be decent. Turns out, I ended up wearing it a few weeks ago when I desperately needed something light and easy to throw on during a disgustingly hot day. I was still decent, I promise!

I also had a lot of fun with my makeup that day. Sometimes I can't resist the urge to draw on my face. I thought it made me resemble a fawn...which is never a bad thing, right? Bambi-lovers, whereuat?

Being a duck.

I wanted that dog.

I love this stupid picture. I don't know why.

Panning! Poor stranger guy on a bike. He probably thought I was crazy.
